Jay Klimes is Counsel at Parlatore Law Group and focuses his practice on entrepreneurship, small business development and intellectual property in the medical field. He assists physician and healthcare professionals looking to start medical practices with patent and trademark licensure, in addition to negotiating contract review, and creating and implementing strategies for steady growth.
Mr. Klimes is passionate about working with small businesses and serving medical professionals, as he is extremely knowledgeable about healthcare administration and policy. His education and experience working with physicians make him an asset in laying the groundwork for a growing and maintaining a medical practice with the proper legal safeguards in place. Whether serving dentists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, or other medical professionals, Mr. Klimes’ extensive knowledge and expertise allow him to best serve the unique needs of those in the medical community.
Additionally, he can facilitate the groundwork for successful businesses during times of transition, serving both resident physicians, nearing the end of their residency programs, and military healthcare professionals who are exiting the armed forces and rejoining the civilian world. A military spouse himself, Mr. Klimes is familiar with the challenges that many families face when transitioning out of the military. His experience navigating the legal channels of establishing, protecting and growing a business is an asset to healthcare professionals looking to create a business during times of change.
Prior to joining Parlatore Law Group, Mr. Klimes was a criminal prosecutor where he gained experience clearly articulating legal positions and honing his research and writing skills. During his time at the Prosecutor’s office he continually reviewed legal precedent, worked with senior prosecutors to collaborate on case theory and preparation, and edited and reviewed drafts of lengthy briefs for court submission. Mr. Klimes has an eye for detail and accuracy; he understands precedent and the necessary legal documents to protect oneself or one’s business in a court of law. His medical knowledge, and combined skill set as a researcher, communicator and attorney, give him a unique business perspective and make him an asset to our team.
He is admitted to practice in Nebraska.
He currently lives in Okinawa, Japan with his wife, an active-duty Navy physician.
