Partner
N’kia is a partner with Parlatore Law Group and dedicates her practice primarily to business law concerns, including business formation and development, employment, licensure, anti-competition, contract formation and disputes, and intellectual property. She also handles a variety of general civil litigation matters, with her special interest being defamation (libel and slander). Her well-rounded legal background makes her well-equipped to meet her clients’ diverse needs.
N’kia joins Parlatore Law Group as a skilled and impassioned counselor, adviser, and advocate. She brings with her a wealth of experience assisting individuals and businesses with navigating the many stages of their relationships with others. She particularly enjoys using alternative dispute resolution processes (negotiation, mediation, and arbitration) to help clients avoid litigation when possible. However, when litigation is unavoidable or in her clients' best interests, she demonstrates just as much talent and dedication in the courtroom. Regardless of the legal approach, with N’kia, relationships are her business.
Prior to joining Parlatore Law Group, N'kia's practice areas also included immigration law, criminal law, and family/domestic law, as well as real property law, including residential and commercial lease disputes, construction disputes, and mold litigation. Her wide breadth of experience in multiple areas of law make her an asset to our team and enable her to tailor her services to clients' unique legal needs.
N'kia loves reading, writing, teaching, and learning. As an academic at heart, she has earned numerous awards and accolades for research and writing, as well as for trial advocacy and public speaking. She also enjoys performance art, including music, dance, theater, independent film, and standup comedy, and she has tried her hand at them all.
She is a former military spouse and has lived in several states, Alaska being her all-time favorite. She currently lives in Raleigh, North Carolina and has one son.
N'kia is licensed to practice in North Carolina.
